Water Day at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh on Water Energy Food Climate Nexus for Climate-Smart Water Management
CEDARE organized a session on the 14th of November (Water Day at COP27) in Sharm ElSheikh on Water Energy Food Climate Nexus for Climate-Smart Water Management. The session was co-organized by Arab Water Council (AWC) and the Egyptian Water Partnership. Prof. Khaled AbuZeid, CEDARE Regional Water Director, gave a comprehensive background presentation with examples from the Arab Region and the Nile Basin on how important the Water Energy Food Nexus approach can be for Climate-Smart Water Management. The session included reflections from GIZ Head, Water Policy & Innovation for Resilience, Mr. Dieter Rothenberger, on German Development Cooperation on the WEF Nexus for Water & Food Security under Climate Change. AWC Secretary General, Dr. Hussein Elatfy presented some closing remarks on the subject.
