COP27 (Water Day) Sharm El Sheikh on Climate Change Adaptation in the Water Sector

CEDARE organized a session at COP27 (Water Day 14/11/2022) Sharm ElSheikh on Climate Change Adaptation in the Water Sector. The session was coorganized by Arab Water Council (AWC) and Egyptian Water Partnership. Prof. Khaled AbuZeid, CEDARE Regional Water Director, presented a 2030 Water Reuse Strategy for Egypt as an Adaptation Strategy for Droughts & Water Scarcity. The session included reflections from AWC President, Prof. Mahmoud AbuZeid, on non-conventional water resources policy briefs and experts network developed by AWC. AWC Secretary General, Dr. Hussein Elatfy spoke about the Arab Regional ReWater Dialogue coorganized by AWC. Dr. Mohamed Hiekal, Orascom, spoke about Egypt’s Bahr ElBaqar Agriculture Drainage Treatment & Reuse plant as the World’s largest plant serving climate change adaptation and mitigation in the water sector with its solar sludge treatment facility.
