The North Africa Climate Conference on the Just Energy Transition
As a guest speaker, Dr. Hossam Allam virtually participates in the North Africa Climate Conference on the Just Energy Transition, 22 April, 2024, Tangier, Morocco.
Dr. Allam, CEDARE’s Sustainable Growth Regional Director, over-viewed the challenges facing energy transition on the national as well as the regional levels. He underlined the Arab countries’ high potential for producing renewable energies such as the solar energy and wind energy. In the Egyptian context, Dr. Allam referred to the multiple MOUs the government lately signed with more than 14 international consortium to facilitate the production of green hydrogen in particular. Lastly, he pointed out that the production, utilization and transfer of renewable energy have become an avoidable climate action today.
The event, which is an impactful regional collaboration towards a just and sustainable transition to green energy, is co-organized by the Middle East Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Observatory for the Protection of the Environment and Historic Monuments of Tangier مرصد حماية البيئة و المآثر التاريخية بطنجة OPEMH Tanger.
