The project involves cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Environment (MoE) and the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) to produce the Egypt State of Environment Report 2020, with a focus on Covid 19. The Egypt State of Environment Report 2020 provides a comprehensive, integrated analysis of environmental conditions, trends and policy responses in Egypt. The report production process involves extensive stakeholder engagement and consultations across government agencies, scientific institutions, private sector, civil society etc.
Diverse datasets from various sources are consolidated and analyzed using advanced analytical techniques, to ensure that report findings will be grounded in rigorous science while also being packaged for maximum policy impact and public outreach. CEDARE will lead overall report development while MoE will coordinate government inputs especially in terms of data sharing and expert reviews.
