Relevance to SDGs
The project’s outcomes directly contribute to the success of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as they enhance the capacity of national institutions and communities for evidence-based decision-making towards sustainability. Specifically, this engagement is relevant to SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land) by strengthening vital ecosystems’ protections. In addition, it aligns with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering a cooperative framework between UNEP and CEDARE. By enhancing the availability of environmental data and statistics, the project also supports the achievement of SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) at the national, sub-national, and city levels.
