Converting Solid Waste to Renewable Energy

CEDARE Signed an agreement with Green Royal Gas Company and B16 Urban Energy, a Norwegian Company for the implementation of a “Gasification Unit” in Fayoum. This is implemented within the “Sustainable Investment in Solid and Agricultural Wastes” project, which is implemented by CEDARE Environmental Governance Programme and funded by the EU- Joint Rural Development Program and the Italian Cooperation.

The gasification unit converts the waste into renewable energy and biochar which could be applied to agricultural lands to improve productivity. The Norwegian technology will be transferred to the Local authorities through training before and during operation.
