CEDARE Jointly Organized with AWC & LAS a session on Climate Security for Adaptation & Resilience at Climate COP28
CEDARE jointly organized with the Arab Water Council (AWC) and the League of Arab States (LAS) a session on Climate Security for Adaptation & Resilience at Climate COP28, Dubai, UAE. The session was conducted on 10/12/2023 at the league of Arab States Pavillion. Dr. Amr Abdelmegeed, Regional Director for Environmental Governance at CEDARE delivered a presentation on Nature Based Solutions for Climate Resilience and Water Security with AlMurunah Project as a Case Study. Prof. Khaled AbuZeid, Regional Water Resources Director at CEDARE had a couple of interventions on the adaptation of the water sector to provide climate security and specifically the role of Water Reuse as an important element of climate security and adaptation in the water sector. The session was inaugurated by HE. Prof. Mahmoud AbuZeid, AWC President, and Dr. Mahmoud Fathallah, LAS. Prof. Walid Abdelrahman, AWC Vice President delivered a keynote presentation on Climate Security. In addition to CEDARE, AWC and LAS, the discussion panel was joined by several other organizations such as CIHEAM, UN Women, & IWMI. The session was concluded by launching The Arab Climate Security, Adaptation and Resilience Technical HUB for Sustainable Development (Climate AdapTech).
