CEDARE Hosted as a Speaker in the MENA Sharik Series Dialogue by the World Bank

Dr. Hossam Allam, SGP Regional Director, took part today in the dialogue convened by the World Bank-Middle East and North Africa Region on CIVIL SOCIETY PERSPECTIVES POST-COP28. Panelists from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon & Morocco exchanged their organizations’ perspectives on climate change innovative action and mitigation.

Discussions reflected the leading role of civil society organizations in the inclusion of vulnerable groups and integrating local communities in effective climate change action.

The 90-minute virtual event was organized in collaboration with the World Bank’s Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) and will help inaugurate the new MENA platform “Sharik”, launched to help deepen the World Bank’s dialogue with civil society organizations and experts. It will also serve as a foundation to update the draft Citizen Climate Action Framework prepared by the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
