CEDARE Collaborated with GMES & Africa and NARS to Organize the first forum for a Resilient and Innovative Earth Observation System in Africa
On Monday, November 27, 2023, in Sharm El-Sheikh, the inaugural session of the GMES & Africa project’s first forum titled “Earth Observation for Invention and Innovation in Africa” took place. The forum, organized by the African Union Commissioner in collaboration with the Egyptian National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences and the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE), attracted over 250 attendees, including experts, representatives from various alliances supporting the European Union, and delegates from more than 41 countries. Among the participating organizations were the African Sahel and Sahel Observatory, focusing on “Earth Observation for the Sustainability of the Wonderful Earth,” and the University of Ghana, contributing to the Sahel and Marine Project
