(2021-2023), Implemented jointly with the UN Cleaner Production Regional Activity Centre (UN CPRAC), this project aims to promote sustainable job opportunities in different governorates of Egypt. It specifically supports the circular economy and enhancing green entrepreneurship as well as introducing blue economy principles in the entrepreneurship ecosystem from Cairo and along the Nile down to Upper Egypt.
This is first done through support to the Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs), and then involving them in relaying support to a wide base of entrepreneurs throughout the country, engaging several BDSPs and reaching to over 140 entrepreneurs receiving training, and leading to selected incubations.
A parallel track of growth-stage support is provided, as well as blue economy mainstreaming for targeted topic-specific support in this novel field. The process involves various forms of support including training-of-trainers, on-job-training, mentoring, and incubation. Stakeholders are further empowered through a national platform and a set of tailored web-based tools for support to ensure mainstreaming of educational content and extending impact beyond project completion.
