A Health and Safety Training under the Concept of Support that the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) Project
A Health and Safety Training was conducted in October 15th 2024 over 3 days for 13 e-waste formal recyclers under the concept of support that the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) project provides to formally accredited e-waste recyclers in Egypt represented by Eco Green Waste Management (EGWM).
The Swiss Funded project SRI implemented internationally by Dss+ and nationally by Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region & Europe (CEDARE), supported the e-waste recyclers to establish an NGO, Eco Green Waste Management (EGWM), a nonprofit organization, representing and promoting the interests of the e-waste recycling sector and bridging the gap between the formal and informal sector: https://ecogreen-waste.org.
The Sustainable Recycling Industries-SRI Project in Egypt resulted from the agreement signed between the Egyptian Government, represented by the MCIT, and the Swiss Government, represented by the Swiss Embassy in Cairo, in April 2016. It is noteworthy that Switzerland has supported developing countries in e-waste recycling through knowledge sharing and partnerships since 2003. The SRI Project, among others, is a part and parcel of the Swiss Egyptian developmental partnership.
