SRI TOT Training on the Practical Refurbishment E-Waste Management Curriculum

A practical on-hand refurbishment sector of the E-waste Management curriculum on batteries ToT workshop was conducted by the Electronic Research Institute in October 2024 over 5 days for 15 WE Technological Schools Engineering Instructors, under the umbrella of the Cooperation Protocol between the Electronic Research Institute (ERI), the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology (MCIT), and the Center for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe (CEDARE) funded by the Swiss Funded project Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI)

The SRI project in Egypt developed the E-Waste Management Curriculum in an attempt to use Education as a leverage point to spur the development of the recycling industry in Egypt. The curriculum is designed to be delivered in a dynamic and interactive teaching structure and targeted 15 Engineering instructors from the WE (mobile operator) ICT vocational Technological schools of MCIT to prepare capable technicians for the ICT industry by extending the End-Of-Life (EOL) ICT equipment, which will impact better management of the e-waste lifecycle.
