CEDARE participated in the Waste to Wealth” panel discussion at The British University in Egypt (BUE)
CEDARE’s Dr. Omar Elbadawy. Regional Director Land Resources Program, participated in the Waste to Wealth” panel discussion at The British University in Egypt (BUE) on January 29, 2025. The event, held under the auspices of the Egyptian وزارة البيئة المصرية – وزارة البيئة المصرية – Ministry of Environment and the South Sinai Governorate, focused on smart and sustainable management of agricultural waste. The project, “Waste to Wealth: Smart & Sustainable Management of Agricultural Waste,” led by Dr. Noha Mostafa of BUE, has received the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University Award.
The Panel invites experts from prestigious organizations with both local and international expertise to address critical issues faced by the Agricultural sector in the MENA region including Egypt.

Mr. Ahmed M. Rezk, ACIT, MSc., Country Director at UN-HABITAT (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), Egypt Office
Dr. Alaaeldin Baioumi, MSME Value Chain Finance, Green Finance, Rural and Agribusiness Finance Senior Expert at International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Dr. Omar Elbadawy, Regional land resources program manager at Cedare – Centre for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe.
