Pastoralism Governance of Bedouin Groups in The Mashreq
The project aims at (1) Improved Governance: Enhance the governance of pastoralism among Bedouin groups through participatory planning and Stakeholders dialogue. (2) Sustainable Pastoralism: Promote sustainable pastoralism practices among Bedouin communities through capacity building and awareness-raising. (3) Ecosystem Conservation: Conserve ecosystems and promote sustainable natural resource management among Bedouin communities. (4) Water Security: Improve water availability for Bedouin communities through rainwater harvesting and other low-cost techniques.
Peoject Components
1. Participatory Planning: Engaging Bedouin communities in participatory planning processes to identify their needs and priorities.
2. Social and Humanitarian (SH) Dialogue: Fostering dialogue between Bedouin communities, governments, and other stakeholders to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.
3. Capacity Building on Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs): Training Bedouin communities on GAPs to improve their agricultural productivity and sustainability.
4. Awareness on Ecosystem Conservation: Raising awareness among Bedouin communities on the importance of ecosystem conservation and sustainable natural resource management.
5. Technical Studies: Conducting technical studies on fauna, flora, and vegetation cover to inform sustainable pastoralism practices.
6. Strategies for Sustainable Pastoralism: Developing strategies for sustainable pastoralism that balance the needs of Bedouin communities with environmental conservation.
7. Water Resources Development: Developing rainwater harvesting techniques, such as cisterns, to improve water availability for Bedouin communities.
