Regional Dialogue on Accelerating Support for National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) in MENA & South Asia

On March 6, 2025, the UNFCCC RCC MENA & South Asia, hosted a vital regional dialogue to strengthen support for the formulation and implementation of National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) across MENA & South Asia—two regions highly vulnerable to climate change.

Why do NAPs Matter?

• NAPs help countries assess climate vulnerabilities, prioritize adaptation actions, and communicate financial needs to global stakeholders.

• With only 9 out of 30 regional countries having submitted their NAPs, urgent action is needed to accelerate progress before the 2025 deadline.

CEDARE’s Senior Regional Specialists from the Knowledge Management Program, Ms. Mayar Sabet and Dr. Mona Daoud, and Dr. Omar El Badawy, Director Land Resources Management Programs actively participated in the regional dialogue, contributing valuable insights and expertise.
